Million Dollar Hair Extensions – Care & Installation Guide
Your bundles may have a light floral fragrance from our signature Million Dollar Hair Extensions co-wash and deep conditioning prior to shipment. Curly hair may appear slightly dormant or in need of revival after transit.
Important: Do not run your fingers through curly hair while it is dry, as this can cause tangling and frizz.
During the initial washes, you may notice a few loose hairs due to the wefting process during bundle construction. This is normal and should decrease significantly after the first few washes. Minimal shedding is expected daily when following a proper haircare regimen. Please note the distinction between shedding (natural hair release from the bundle) and breakage (damage to the hair shaft).
Pre-Installation Care
Always wash your extensions prior to installation while keeping the zip-ties intact.
This allows you to inspect the bundles for any abnormalities before installing.
If you notice any issues, contact Million Dollar Hair Extensions immediately for resolution.
Installation Guidelines
Use the over-and-out method when installing your extensions.
Our wefts are designed for minimal shedding, so avoid piercing the wefts, as this may shorten their lifespan.
Cut wefts only when necessary, as trimming can increase shedding.
While optional, sealing your wefts with a high-quality weft sealant can further enhance durability and longevity.
CoWash & Curl Definition Instructions
Step 1 – Pre-Wash Preparation
In the shower, section hair into 5–6 parts using hair clips before wetting. This makes curly hair easier to manage.
Wet all sections thoroughly while keeping them separate.
Step 2 – Detangling & Conditioning
Apply conditioner section by section and work through each with a Denman brush, starting from the ends. Detangling curly hair is most effective when done in sections.
Deep condition for 15–30 minutes.
Step 3 – Rinsing
For kinkier textures, leave a small amount of conditioner in the hair to act as a leave-in for moisture retention.
For looser curls, rinse thoroughly to prevent weighed-down curls. Adjust based on personal preference and desired curl style.
Step 4 – Curl Definition
Section hair into 3–4 parts and fully detangle using a Denman brush. Ensure all curls are brushed out—skipping this step may cause problems later.
Mix 2/3 water with 1/3 conditioner in a spray bottle and saturate each section.
Apply a light sealant cream to lock in moisture. Brush through each section to help coils form naturally.
Use a cotton T-shirt to scrunch each section—this helps set the coil shape and removes excess water.
Dry hair with a diffuser until about 60% dry (optional: air-dry). Avoid touching or running fingers through the hair while drying.
Refresh curls as needed with a water and conditioner spray until the next CoWash.
Step 5 – Maintenance Between Installs
Once per month or between installs, use an intensive hair mask or hot oil treatment to maintain hair longevity.
Always use a heat protectant when styling. Excessive heat can alter the curl pattern and integrity of the hair, similar to natural hair.
Key Tips
